What is Reconnect JA

Reconnect JA is a non-profit that strives to help UK-based young people with Jamaican ancestry, reconnect to Jamaica. Our services and programs focus on:

  • Education

  • Information Sharing

  • Volunteering

As an organisation, Reconnect JA believes that connecting to your culture should not be expensive or difficult. Of course, learning something new and going out of your comfort zone can be daunting. To help, Reconnect JA has curated its services in a supportive manner. We truly believe reconnecting with Jamaica should be an enjoyable and empowering experience, that helps you feel connected and a part of the community.

Reconnect JA is organising an 11-day volunteering trip in Jamaica this winter, focusing on both educational and environmental initiatives across Jamaica. Head to our Winter Giving Back page to learn more.

  • Yes! Absolutely!

    Our travel agency services, support services, some educational content, and events are open to all ages.

    The only age-restricted service will be our ‘Back ah Yard: Program’. If any of our events are age-restricted, this will be explicitly stated in the event description.
